6 Ways SEO Pros Are Using ChatGPT Right Now

ChatGPT has great potential to revolutionize search engine optimization. Here are some methods that are currently used in SEO studies.

You can use ChatGPT efficiently for many different SEO efforts. However, it is helpful not to accept the results it gives in its current form as one hundred percent correct and to think of it as a catalyst for generating new ideas.

Here are some sample SEO practices you can do with ChatGPT:

1. Creating Content

As I mentioned before, instead of placing the Content produced by ChatGPT on your site as it is, I recommend you use it after making adjustments and improvements. It will be better to use English. For example, ChatGPT's answer to the "what is SEO" question is below.

After editing it with tools such as Grammarly, it is helpful to add your knowledge and experience. Then, you will produce content quickly with artificial intelligence and valuable content for users.

2. Keyword Research and Analysis

I should point out that ChatGPT is not a reliable source for giving search volumes. However, we can say that ChatGPT successfully finds search words regardless of search volumes.

3. Content Strategy Development

In this regard, ChatGPT can give you original ideas. For example, when I had a cryptocurrency blog and asked him to recommend a content strategy for me, he shared the following suggestions:

4. Better Understanding of Search Intent

For example, ChatGPT nicely sums up the intent behind users' searches for "bank credit":

5. Creating Good SEO Headlines

ChatGPT does an excellent job in this regard, too. For example, below you can find suggestions for blog post titles about "evergreen content":

6. Generate and Manage Google Analytics Reports

I suggest you review this article on the subject:

Google's Helpful Content and Link Spam Updates Completed Jan 12

Google has stated that the December 2022 helpful content update and the December 2022 backlink SPAM update are finally complete.

The December 2022 helpful content update started on December 5, 2022, and was completed approximately 38 days later. The December 2022 backlink SPAM update began on December 14, 2022, and was completed 29 days later. Both of these updates were usually supposed to be released after 14 days. However, coinciding with the holiday period caused the process to be longer.

Can We Say Google Rankings Have Balanced?

It is still difficult to say this because severe fluctuations continue to occur in the rankings. Below you can see the notification I received yesterday from Semrush Sensor. US mobile results continue to experience significant volatility.

After a long slow and paused rollout, Google has said that both the December 2022 helpful content update and December 2022 link spam update are now done rolling out. Google said both completed rolling out on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

Google: AI Content Doesn't Matter As Long as It's Useful and Created For Humans First

Danny Sullivan, Google's spokesperson for search, made statements about artificial intelligence content that we are not used to hearing from Google until now.

Not to mention Google's allergy to AI-generated content. They repeatedly underlined that we should never use artificial intelligence-generated content. Somehow this week, the first flare came that they started to stray from this policy. I discovered the news thanks to SEO expert Chris Long's post below.

From Google Search Liason: AI content is OK as long as it's helpful and created for people-first.

You can find Danny Sullivan's statement on Twitter below:

Like Sherlock Holmes, Google taught us to question and put the pieces together to get results. Do you think this statement by Danny Sullivan may have something to do with the artificial intelligence called Sparrow, developed by Deep Mind, that Google will release in 2023 as a response to ChatGPT?

OpenAI May Introduce Paid Pro Version of ChatGPT

OpenAI is considering launching a premium version of the ChatGPT AI-powered chatbot that offers enhanced performance.

Recent users of ChatGPT have noticed that there are occasional outages. Since the end of December, it has received incredible attention, and many people have started using it. OpenAI currently offers this service for free, and each query we make through ChatGPT has a cost. So it seems natural for them to "throttle the valve."

To summarize;

  • OpenAI has opened a waiting list for the paid pro version of ChatGPT. You can sign up for the waiting list via this link.

  • The pro version will include benefits such as faster response times and higher message limits.

  • OpenAI eventually has to monetize ChatGPT because of its computing costs.

  • The pro version will include perks such as faster response times and higher message limits.

Google: Backlinks to Multiple Vendors in Product Reviews Can Get a Small Ranking Boost

In the fifth version of Google's product reviews update, Google added that linking to multiple vendors is part of the overall algorithm.

Google's Alan Kent said on Twitter this week that, all other things being equal, "linking to multiple providers could take a small boost."

Regarding the product reviews update, Google wrote, "add links to multiple vendors to give the reader the option to buy from their preferred vendor."

Lily Ray, an SEO expert, asked Alan Kent of Google: "Given that Google recommends linking to multiple vendors, this means informative affiliate sites that only link to a single company (for example, travel affiliate programs). What does it mean)?"

Alan Kent from Google replied: "Yes. Similarly, if there are two great sites with great content, those with reviews linking to multiple providers might get a small boost. But rather, the quality of the content will make the difference, and it will dominate"

In Google's fifth release of the product reviews update, Google added that linking to multiple sellers is part of the overall algorithm. Alan Kent from Google said yesterday on Twitter that when all else is equal,

Google Says Writing SEO Case Studies Is Pretty Difficult

Google has had an SEO case studies and success stories page since 2019 and they have updated it several times.

Recently, a person named Mariachiara Marsella asked John Mueller if Google could add new case studies.

Browse SEO case studies and success stories to see first-hand how Google Search can help you reach more people with your website.

John Mueller at Mastodon replied, "I think it's quite difficult for us to do these because the search is so dynamic."

Presumably, John says, because Google Search changes search attributes so often, not just core rankings, generating them can cause results to become stale quickly. So even when Google gets proper approval to publish one of these case studies, the study's results may be meaningless for reasons such as a ranking change or a feature loss.

Isn't this also valid for SEO case studies published by SEO Experts?

Of course, it is valid. But people are very keen on going after success stories. Most people don't make such deep inquiries when you post a Google Search Console performance report that shows rising clicks and impressions. Instead, they applaud you and think of their failures, which breeds feelings of worthlessness.

Whether the organic traffic generated has met commercial expectations or contributed to conversion rates is not questioned. However, for some reason, it is not remembered that the shared graphic is a snapshot, and as in every SEO work, ups and downs are likely to happen. Therefore, the change in performance is not tracked after months.

Google has this SEO case studies and success stories page since 2019 and they have updated it a few times, I believe, since. Recently, someone Mariachiara Marsella asked John Mueller if Google can add new case studies.
